Creative Writing 1: Writing In Reverse

Ruppert has been walking up and down 5th Ave. for the last few hours scoping out the vicinity. He has been in an economic crisis the last few weeks and hasn’t been able to pay rent for his apartment in Manhattan, let alone a subway pass for transportation. Ruppert was skeptically walking looking at business executives pass by searching for an opportunity to possibly mug someone. As Ruppert turns the corner he realizes to get back on track with his bills and not get evicted from his new apartment he had to step it up a notch. His eyes light up as he watches a blinged out white lifted Escalade with 32 inch rims pass by. He quickly keeps up with traffic and waits for the SUV to slowly pull off the street. Ruppert watches a policeman walk across the street and turns the other direction. He realizes that the police is approaching a homeless man urinating on the wall and is full of relief. He waits for the man in a poofy jacket to exit his car leaving the keys in the ignition. Ruppert darts across slamming the door shut and stepping on the gas. He takes the SUV to his apartment and thinks he will eventually be caught that he can’t hide his crime forever. He pulls over to the curb runs inside and comes back outside with a box of tools. He screws off the first rim and watches people pass skeptically watching him. Working on the second rim he looked up to see a man rushing him drop kicking him to the ground. Ruppert struggles to push him off grabbing the two rims sprinting down the street. He turns down into a subway and rips off his coat hoping to change his appearance. He heard the man yelling from a distance and just kept running. As Ruppert passed through a security monitor depositing two dollars he looked up becoming conscious of 10 policemen surrounding him with guns drawn. He dropped the blinged out rims and put his hands over his head. As he was being arrested he was confronted by Jay-Z the owner of the Escalade.
